Programming Basics in Python with Turtle Geometry
Sunday 16th, 11:30 (Room D)
In our talk we focus on deeper understanding of teaching programming basics in the Python language. Our aim is to find out how we can help to teacher for easier transformation to new language. We designed a methodical materia for learning programming in Python in which we decided follow constructionistic approach and to exploit the motivation of turtle geometry. This supports learning by exploring, creating and discovering. By means of it pupils learn the basic concepts and constructs as variables, loops, functions and conditions. We developed, implemented and verified our materials iteratively, using design based research. We also present the process of implementing the materials into practice at upper secondary schools in Slovakia.
- The speaker suggested this session is suitable for teachers.
